Welcome to TheKitchenCohort, a website where we talk about our favorite subject – food!
Statement – What We’re About
We work with a simple idea – demystifying food, recipes, and all about the kitchen.
Of course, we assume our readers are knowledgeable on all these matters, yet, with the global cuisine getting localized, the modern person is exposed to a whole lot of flavors, foods, and ingredients from all parts of the world.
Even a few decades ago, this would be a luxury difficult to enjoy. And now these flavors come to us not just in gourmet restaurants, but also places as simple as food trucks or stalls in a fair.
It would only be natural for many of us who enjoy cooking to try our hands at these new flavors. Or, at least try to understand the foods and flavors we’re curious about. However, as we know, food is not all about recipes and most of us don’t have fully stocked pantries that could rival major restaurants!
So, sometimes one might want suitable alternatives to use for their recipes, or even just want to try a different method to work with a recipe.
There can be many reasons “why” someone wants to take this approach, and as far as we’re concerned, any reason is valid. Food is for you to enjoy and any ingredient or recipe that works for you, is the right one!
Yes, we do not take a puritanical approach to food or recipes, though we do regard them enough to give them the respect they deserve and mention the traditional ways where relevant.
Apart from all these ingredients, there is a whole new world of diets, food preferences, new food ingredients, local foods, global foods, and a whole lot more. While all these preferences don’t quite intersect each other, they do exist with quite some popularity and are worth considering. As a result, the culinary culture around the world has become closer, with ingredients, recipes, changes, and more.
TheKitchenCohort intends to document that food culture and where it stands with our world and world views.
As things are, the discussion on food is a wide topic by itself. While we do want to focus on specific niches, we do not want to gatekeep where the discussion takes us. As such, we’re open to readers’ comments, opinions, and advice, as relevant.
Monetization, Affiliates, And More
TheKitchenCohort is all about food but it’s not entirely possible to ignore the need for monetization either. The money earned helps feed our websites, servers, and humans. To fulfill these needs, TheKitchenCohort may use avenues of monetization like ads, affiliate links, sponsorships, or similar mediums.
We strive for transparency, so our readers know where the website earns its money. More importantly, editorial control should not waver for monetary needs.
As such, even where affiliate links and sponsorships are concerned, our editorial policy remains blind to their presence. As an example, a product is recommended on its own merit; but if we find a suitable affiliate or sponsorship link available, it is added during the final stages of publishing. This is a system of balance to ensure that the recommendation doesn’t exist solely for the need of an affiliate link.
In fact, this means that many of the items we recommend have no monetary benefit attached to them.
Here’s something you’ll never see us write — Rating 9.5/10; Verdict: Bad!
The values and mission that drive our site take a more important role than the need for monetization. It bites the wallet, but that’s a risk we’re willing to take.
